KUNSTRASEN

Born in 1979 and growing up in the countryside in Germany, Kunstrasen is a stencil artist who derives his name from the German term for “Astroturf”. Also, he made a wordplay with “kunst”=art and “rasen”=speeding in German.

After the school, he moved to Canada and, after, in the UK for the university. Studies and work in design until he made the hobby of stencilism in a profession. Now he is back in Germany and making his amazing and unic art.

The purpose behind Kunstaren’s art is continuing research for authenticity, with a costant critical look on contemporary society and economic system. His style, with mainstream cultural references, play with cutting satire and the peculiar techniques.
